Jessabelle is an upcoming American horror thriller film directed by Kevin Greutert and written by Ben Garant. The film stars Sarah Snook, Mark Webber, Joelle Carter, David Andrews, Amber Stevens and Ana de la Reguera. The film was temporarily known as "Ghosts".

Story

"Jessabelle" centers on Jessie (Snook), who returns to her father's Louisiana home after an accident robs her of the use of her legs. Once there, she must confront an enraged ghost. Little is known about Carter's role except that she will play Sarah, the mother of Snook's Jessie. Webber plays Preston, an old high school boyfriend of Snook's character who helps her uncover a mystery about her family.

A girl is forced to return to her father's home in Louisiana when a car accident leaves her without the use of both her legs. What she finds there is a mystery surrounding her own birth and an angry ghost (named Jessabellem) that seems determined to destroy her.

Local production “Jessabelle” will begin shooting in the Wilmington area April 2, according to Hollywood trade magazines.

Australian actress Sarah Snook and actor Mark Webber (“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”) are set to star in the Lionsgate horror flick, which will be directed by “Saw 3D's” Kevin Greutert.

In comedy writer Robert Ben Garant's (“Night at the Museum”) script, Snook is forced to return to her father's Louisiana home after a car crash leaves her paralyzed. She soon learns of a mystery that surrounds her birth and an angered ghost – Jessabelle – determined to destroy her. Webber plays a childhood pal who helps her learn the truth about her family.

According to Variety magazine, Snook was one of the five finalists to play Lisbeth Salander in “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” She previously appeared in Julia Leigh's “Sleeping Beauty” and will soon be seen alongside “True Blood” star Ryan Kwanten in the romantic comedy “Not Suitable for Children.”

Webber recently co-starred in the independent comedies “Save the Date” and “For a Good Time, Call....”

The film's producers include Jason Blum (“Paranormal Activity”) and Principato-Young Entertainment.
